Founded by Ian Stimler and Mika Kimoto in 1999, KIMSTIM’s mission is to release overlooked, under appreciated master works of world cinema to home video and theaters. Since its inception KIMSTIM has compiled a diverse and critically lauded series of works by such world famous directors as Francois Ozon, Tsai Ming Liang and Takeshi “Beat” Kitano. Starting in 2001, KIMSTIM will begin releasing its first feature films that includes the Berlin Silver Bear winner - THE RIVER by Tsai Ming Liang (July); SKIN OF MAN, HEART OF BEAST -Winner: Best Film, Best Actor, Locarno International Film Festival (September); and Cannes Special Jury Prize Winner - CODE UNKNOWN directed by Michael Haneke and starring Academy Award Winner Juliet Binoche (October).
